Local Lifestyle

This charming neighborhood in Denver, Colorado, is more than just a place to live; it's a place to thrive.  You can experience the best of urban and natural living, all in one beautiful package, and you'll understand why Berkeley is where you want to be.  The tree-lined streets offer a delightful blend of old and new homes, creating an ideal setting for mingling with neighbors, leisurely strolls, and walking your beloved furry companions. You can easily walk to the vibrant Tennyson Street district, a hub of culinary delights and entertainment. Berkeley and Rocky Mountain Lake Park provide a peaceful retreat, while the neighboring Highlands, Sloans' Lake, and LoHi districts add a dash of urban excitement with downtown Denver just a stone's throw away. And when the mountains call, Berkeley residents are just a short drive away from a world of outdoor adventure.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

One of the defining features of Berkeley is its walkability and the vibrant and diverse dining scene along Tennyson Street. From upscale restaurants to cozy coffee shops, there's something to satisfy every craving. Start your day with a delicious cup of coffee at a local favorites like MOB Coffee and Huckleberry Roasters; find freshly baked pastries at Bakery Four or delicious bagels at Call Your Mother (seriously you should call your mother!). For a hearty breakfast or brunch, Denver Biscuit Company serves up mouthwatering biscuit plates, like Shrimp and Grits and biscuit sandwiches… (and yes… you probably need to like biscuits), or head on over to the Cozy Cottage where you’ll find a traditional country breakfast, crepes or try the Protein Power breakfast--if you need a little oomph and want something hearty!

When the sun sets, Tennyson Street comes alive with a plethora of dining options. Parisi is a classic and offers a slice of Italy with their authentic pasta dishes (note, they have upstairs and downstairs--upstairs is a bit more casual), while West End Tap House offers an alluring mix of appetizers and main meals from fried cheese curds, Elk Chili to their IPA Battered Fish and Chips to their Inside Out Grilled Cheese—definitely a must in the fall or winter. If you need to pass on the cheese curds and your body yearns for a healthier option, try Vital Root with it’s a cool casual dining that offers an answer to those looking for real flavor with plant-based foods (Note: Omnivores will still be satisfied). For a more upscale dining experience, try Voghera, known for its Milanese-style dining where you can share small plates and try intricate mixed drinks or amazing wine with your hip friends.

Of course you’re in Colorado… so do NOT forget the bars and breweries! Berkeley Untapped is a fantastic neighborhood bar offering a variety of craft beers, wine and mixed drinks. If you're into craft cocktails, The Grateful Gnome is a great place to be. Also check out Call to Arms Brewing Company or The Emporium Brewing Company. Trust me… they won’t disappoint.

For shopping, there's a lot of fun places to see so go there yourself and explore, but check out Feral Mountain Co... a cool place to buy your outdoor gear; this place is a clear reminder that you're now in Colorado and you can never have enough outdoor gear! Also, Real Baby is the place to buy cool, hip, unique baby stuff for all the cool, hip and unique babies you know.  Inspyre Boutique has a curated collection of hip and affordable women's clothes.  Spruce Barbershop, is a Men's clothier offering stylish apparel & accessories, plus barber & style-consulting services.  And, don't leave out your furrier friends and head on over to Mouthful, an upscale pet store with food, toys, unique items (like dog breath mints) & a treat-tasting bar.

Things To Do

Besides the great shopping and dining, Berkeley has more fun things to offer, including a few iconic places like the Oriental Theater, a venue from the '20's offering a diverse repertoire of music, comedy, film, live performances and private events and Lakeside Amusement Park.

Denver isn’t known for its abundance of water, but Berkeley has two beautiful lakes, Berkeley Lake and Rocky Mountain Lake, within a short walk. These scenic lakes and parks on the north side of Berkeley provide a peaceful escape from the urban hustle and bustle. It's the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely stroll, or take your furry friend (or your human friend) for a walk. The parks offers a place to unwind with a view of the distant mountains as your backdrop. Near Berkeley Lake, you'll find Berkeley Dog Park, one of Denver's 12 off-leash dog parks.

If you're thinking about living in Berkeley, you'll find that its close proximity to other fun neighborhoods, is a clear advantage. Berkeley is just a stone's throw away is Highlands, known for its historic charm, boutique shops, and trendy restaurants. Sloans' Lake, a short drive to the south, offers a massive lake for water activities and a vibrant social scene. Meanwhile, LoHi (Lower Highlands) is a hub for culinary enthusiasts, housing an array of eclectic eateries and bars.  And, Berkeley is just a short drive from the bustling heart of downtown Denver offering a world of entertainment, from theaters to museums, shopping districts, a vibrant nightlife and professional sports events. And, if you're an outdoor enthusiast, Berkeley's proximity to the highway is a game-changer. Go to the foothills to play or visit the mountains which are accessible within an hour, making it the perfect home base for outdoor adventures in the summer or winter.
